I highly recommend T-Ledgers. Their communication is exceptional. You won’t have to wait days for a response. Waji really takes his time to explain things in-depth with his clients. He provides the ins and outs behind every major decision. Our corporation was 2 years behind on filings and Waji and his firm got all the work done in a timely manner, as promised.Posted on Google![]()

I highly recommend **T Ledger's Accounting**. He has gone above and beyond for me every single time I’ve needed his help. Even when something is urgent or needs to be handled last minute, he gets it done right away and makes sure everything is taken care of properly. He’s the type of accountant you can genuinely depend on. No matter what situation you’re dealing with, he takes the time to understand it, explains what needs to be done, and handles everything with a high level of professionalism. Reliable, knowledgeable, responsive, and always willing to help. It’s hard to find someone you can trust to handle important financial and accounting matters, and I’ve had nothing but a great experience with T Ledger's Accounting. **Beyond highly recommended. If you’re looking for an accountant you can rely on, this is the place to go.**Posted on Google![]()

The client portal T-Ledgers uses makes the whole process much easier than dealing with emails and PDFs back and forth. Document sharing is simple, questions get answered quickly, and you can always see where things stand. It's a modern way of handling accounting and I appreciated that.Posted on Google![]()

I fully recommend Wajahat for one's tax filing needs. He will explain what he's doing and why, rather than just asking for documents and going silent, ensuring the customer is informed at every stage of the process. He is trustworthy and transparent when it comes to pricing and quality of the work for small business tax needs.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust. Toronto has the country’s largest population of gig workers, condo landlords and one-person consulting corporations, and those are exactly the groups whose tax problems tend to build quietly: a few years of ride-share fares with no GST/HST account, a condo rented on a short-term platform but never reported, or a corporation that stopped filing when the owner got busy. The Voluntary Disclosures Program lets you fix that before the CRA asks, with most penalties and much of the interest cancelled.
I’m Wajahat Ajmal, CPA, FCCA. T-Ledgers is a CPA-led accounting firm practising since 2020, based in Etobicoke inside the City of Toronto. We rebuild the missing records, prepare every corrected return and file the application for you as your authorized representative.
Toronto clients who come to us for a disclosure are most often ride-share and delivery drivers, condo and basement landlords, freelancers paid by foreign platforms, and small corporations that have missed several T2 or GST/HST returns.

| Situation | How a disclosure handles it | Official source |
|---|---|---|
| Ride-share fares with no GST/HST account | Commercial ride-sharing drivers must register from the first dollar; the $30,000 small supplier rule doesn’t apply. We calculate the GST/HST owed on past fares, claim input tax credits on the car, and disclose the missed periods together. | CRA: sharing economy |
| Short-term or long-term rental income never reported | Unreported rental income is a classic disclosure. We rebuild income and expenses for each year from platform and bank records and file adjusted T1 returns with the application. | CRA: who is eligible for the VDP |
| Foreign accounts or property over $100,000 | Missing T1135 forms and unreported foreign income need ten years of documents in a disclosure, not six. | CRA: T1135 foreign reporting |
See also: CRA: changes to the VDP.
An illustrative example (not a client story). A Toronto driver has been driving for a ride-share app since 2021 without a GST/HST number and reported the fares on his T1 only in some years. No one at the CRA has contacted him. We register him for GST/HST, calculate tax on every fare period, claim the input tax credits on fuel and car costs, correct the missing T1 income, and file one unprompted application with payment of the estimated tax. Under IC00-1R7 an unprompted application normally receives 100% penalty relief and 75% interest relief.
Toronto’s short-term rental rules mean many hosts already registered with the City but never reported the income to the CRA; City registration is not a CRA filing. If a Vacant Home Tax or other City charge is also outstanding, that is a separate municipal matter we flag but the VDP doesn’t cover.

| Application | Penalty relief | Interest relief |
|---|---|---|
| Unprompted (no CRA contact about the issue) | ✓100% | ✓75% |
| Prompted (after a CRA letter naming the issue) | ✓Up to 100% | ✓25% |
Rates are for applications received on or after October 1, 2025. You still pay the tax, and an audit already started on the issue closes the door.

Yes, if the CRA hasn’t started an audit on it. The missed GST/HST periods and any unreported income go into one application, with the tax owing paid or a payment arrangement requested.
No. The application is submitted online through Represent a Client, or by mail or fax to the VDP in Shawinigan. Everything is handled remotely.
Not if the CRA hasn’t contacted you about it. We rebuild each year’s rental income and expenses and file the corrected returns with the application.
It is quoted after a free review, because it depends on the number of years and returns involved. Any catch-up bookkeeping starts from $1,800 per year + HST/GST.
If relief is granted, the CRA does not refer the disclosed issues for criminal prosecution, and gross negligence penalties don’t apply to them.
