Seasonal cash flow, prepaid snow contracts, equipment write-offs and seasonal crews handled by a CPA-led accounting firm that plans for all four seasons.
24/7 receptionist, a real person answers.
T-Ledgers is a CPA-led accounting firm working with Ontario landscaping, lawn care, hardscape and snow removal businesses, from owner-operators with one truck and plow to companies running seasonal crews. Wajahat Ajmal, CPA, FCCA, has been practising since 2020. We handle bookkeeping, HST, payroll and corporate and personal tax, and every return is reviewed by a CPA.
Most of your revenue arrives in a few months, while equipment payments, insurance and some wages run all year. Snow contracts are often paid before the work is done, and the equipment list keeps growing. Good books smooth that out and make sure you pay tax on income when it’s actually earned.
Rules, rates and thresholds change. We confirm the current figure for your situation on the call before relying on it.
Seasonal contracts are often paid up front or in instalments before the work is done. Amounts received for services you haven’t yet performed are included in income when received, but you can generally claim a reserve for the work still to come. We track contract periods so your income matches the season you actually worked.
Law: Income Tax Act s.12(1)(a) and 12(1)(b) (amounts received in advance and amounts receivable); Income Tax Act s.20(1)(m) (reserve for goods and services not yet delivered).
We build a simple monthly cash-flow view so you know what to set aside in summer to cover winter, or in winter to cover the spring ramp-up, including HST, payroll remittances and tax instalments.
Law: Income Tax Act s.156(1) (quarterly instalments for individuals); Income Tax Act s.156.1(1) (instalment threshold).
Equipment goes on your capital cost allowance schedule by class, and pickups have the business-use share tracked. We keep a register for every unit, including attachments, trade-ins and disposals, so recapture doesn’t catch you off guard.
Law: Income Tax Act s.20(1)(a) (capital cost allowance); Income Tax Regulations s.1100(1) and Schedule II (CCA classes); Income Tax Act s.13(1) (recapture); Income Tax Act s.248(1) (“automobile”, “passenger vehicle”).
Seasonal staff are usually employees, with CPP, EI and income tax withheld and T4s issued. We run payroll through the busy months and handle the paperwork when the season ends.
Interlock, retaining walls and grading done as part of a construction project can bring in construction rules such as holdbacks and WSIB coverage. We look at what kind of work you do and set up the books accordingly.
Law: Construction Act (Ontario) s.22(1) (10% holdback); Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, 1997 (Ontario).
You charge HST on most landscaping and snow removal services once registered, and claim input tax credits on fuel, equipment, materials and repairs. We make sure prepaid contracts have HST charged at the right time.

I highly recommend T-Ledgers. Their communication is exceptional. You won’t have to wait days for a response. Waji really takes his time to explain things in-depth with his clients. He provides the ins and outs behind every major decision. Our corporation was 2 years behind on filings and Waji and his firm got all the work done in a timely manner, as promised.Posted on Google![]()

I highly recommend **T Ledger's Accounting**. He has gone above and beyond for me every single time I’ve needed his help. Even when something is urgent or needs to be handled last minute, he gets it done right away and makes sure everything is taken care of properly. He’s the type of accountant you can genuinely depend on. No matter what situation you’re dealing with, he takes the time to understand it, explains what needs to be done, and handles everything with a high level of professionalism. Reliable, knowledgeable, responsive, and always willing to help. It’s hard to find someone you can trust to handle important financial and accounting matters, and I’ve had nothing but a great experience with T Ledger's Accounting. **Beyond highly recommended. If you’re looking for an accountant you can rely on, this is the place to go.**Posted on Google![]()

I fully recommend Wajahat for one's tax filing needs. He will explain what he's doing and why, rather than just asking for documents and going silent, ensuring the customer is informed at every stage of the process. He is trustworthy and transparent when it comes to pricing and quality of the work for small business tax needs.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
