I highly recommend T-Ledgers. Their communication is exceptional. You won’t have to wait days for a response. Waji really takes his time to explain things in-depth with his clients. He provides the ins and outs behind every major decision. Our corporation was 2 years behind on filings and Waji and his firm got all the work done in a timely manner, as promised.Posted on Google![]()

I highly recommend **T Ledger's Accounting**. He has gone above and beyond for me every single time I’ve needed his help. Even when something is urgent or needs to be handled last minute, he gets it done right away and makes sure everything is taken care of properly. He’s the type of accountant you can genuinely depend on. No matter what situation you’re dealing with, he takes the time to understand it, explains what needs to be done, and handles everything with a high level of professionalism. Reliable, knowledgeable, responsive, and always willing to help. It’s hard to find someone you can trust to handle important financial and accounting matters, and I’ve had nothing but a great experience with T Ledger's Accounting. **Beyond highly recommended. If you’re looking for an accountant you can rely on, this is the place to go.**Posted on Google![]()

I fully recommend Wajahat for one's tax filing needs. He will explain what he's doing and why, rather than just asking for documents and going silent, ensuring the customer is informed at every stage of the process. He is trustworthy and transparent when it comes to pricing and quality of the work for small business tax needs.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust. Scarborough returns often involve more than one income source. Many households rent out a basement unit, run a side business or drive for a rideshare or delivery app, students at the University of Toronto Scarborough and Centennial College file with tuition slips, and newcomers file their first Canadian return. We prepare returns that report each source properly and claim the Ontario credits families often miss.
I’m Wajahat Ajmal, CPA, FCCA. T-Ledgers is a CPA-led accounting firm practising since 2020. We work with Scarborough clients by phone, video and email. If you’d rather meet in person, our Etobicoke office at 102-89 Skyway Ave is in the City of Toronto, and we also have an office in Mississauga, both by appointment.

| Local situation | How we handle it | Official source |
|---|---|---|
| Basement and second-unit rentals | Rent goes on a T776 with the rented share of mortgage interest, property tax, utilities and insurance, based on the space rented. | CRA: rental income guide |
| Rideshare and delivery drivers | Rideshare drivers must register for GST/HST from their first fare; delivery-only drivers follow the usual $30,000 test. We prepare the T2125 and HST return together. | CRA: GST/HST for ride-sharing |
| UTSC and Centennial students | Tuition from the T2202 is claimed, carried forward or transferred to a parent, up to the limit. | CRA: tuition amounts |
| Ontario Trillium Benefit | Rent or property tax you pay can count toward the Ontario energy and property tax credit, claimed on the ON-BEN form. | CRA: Ontario benefits |
Law: Income Tax Act s.9 (business and property income); Excise Tax Act s.240(1.1) (registration for a taxi business, including commercial ride-sharing); Income Tax Act s.118.61 (unused tuition carryforward).
Families with a basement tenant often under-claim or over-claim expenses. We split shared costs by the rented share of the home, keep the calculation on file and usually avoid claiming CCA on the house, so the principal residence exemption isn’t put at risk when you sell.
Newcomers get their arrival date, world income before arrival and benefit applications handled on their first return. Self-employed drivers and side businesses get a T2125 with vehicle and phone costs, and HST reconciled to the platform’s annual summary.
For families, filing on time is what keeps benefits flowing. The Canada child benefit, the GST/HST credit and the Ontario Trillium Benefit are all worked out from the return, and for the child benefit both spouses or partners must file, even if one had no income.
Deadlines, penalties and relief: our personal tax page.
Law: Income Tax Act s.150(1)(d) (filing deadline); Income Tax Act s.156.1(4) (balance due); Income Tax Act s.162(1) (late-filing penalty).
