I highly recommend T-Ledgers. Their communication is exceptional. You won’t have to wait days for a response. Waji really takes his time to explain things in-depth with his clients. He provides the ins and outs behind every major decision. Our corporation was 2 years behind on filings and Waji and his firm got all the work done in a timely manner, as promised.Posted on Google![]()

I highly recommend **T Ledger's Accounting**. He has gone above and beyond for me every single time I’ve needed his help. Even when something is urgent or needs to be handled last minute, he gets it done right away and makes sure everything is taken care of properly. He’s the type of accountant you can genuinely depend on. No matter what situation you’re dealing with, he takes the time to understand it, explains what needs to be done, and handles everything with a high level of professionalism. Reliable, knowledgeable, responsive, and always willing to help. It’s hard to find someone you can trust to handle important financial and accounting matters, and I’ve had nothing but a great experience with T Ledger's Accounting. **Beyond highly recommended. If you’re looking for an accountant you can rely on, this is the place to go.**Posted on Google![]()

I fully recommend Wajahat for one's tax filing needs. He will explain what he's doing and why, rather than just asking for documents and going silent, ensuring the customer is informed at every stage of the process. He is trustworthy and transparent when it comes to pricing and quality of the work for small business tax needs.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust. Scarborough owners tend to run hands-on businesses where the books have to catch everything that moves through the till. A restaurant on Sheppard takes cash, cards and two delivery apps; a grocer on Midland imports half its stock; an auto shop off Progress Avenue sells parts and labour on the same invoice; a printer in the Milner area buys paper on supplier credit. Each needs sales, deposits and suppliers reconciled every month, not estimated.
I’m Wajahat Ajmal, CPA, FCCA. T-Ledgers is a CPA-led accounting firm practising since 2020. We work with Scarborough clients by phone, video and email. If you’d rather meet in person, our Etobicoke office at 102-89 Skyway Ave is in the City of Toronto, and we also have an office in Mississauga, both by appointment.

| Local rule or situation | How we handle it in your books | Official source |
|---|---|---|
| City of Toronto business licences | Food businesses, auto repair, personal service settings and renovators need a City licence. The renewal is booked in the month you pay it. | Toronto licence and permit types |
| Toronto Public Health and DineSafe | Restaurants and grocers are inspected by Toronto Public Health. Equipment and repairs from an inspection are recorded in the right category. | Toronto Public Health DineSafe |
| Cash and card sales | Daily POS reports are posted to sales, card processors are reconciled to deposits and cash is counted against the bank, so HST on sales is supported. | CRA: input tax credits |
| Imported stock | For grocers and distributors importing goods, GST paid to the CBSA is claimed as an input tax credit from the customs broker statements. | CBSA: importing |
Law: City of Toronto Act, 2006 s.86(1) (business licensing); Health Protection and Promotion Act s.16(1) (food premises); Excise Tax Act s.169(4) (ITC documentation).
A lot of Scarborough businesses are family-run, with one person handling cash, suppliers and staff. We take the bookkeeping off that person’s plate: POS and processor reports posted daily or weekly, supplier statements matched each month, and HST filed from reconciled numbers instead of estimates.
Manufacturers, printers and auto shops in the Progress and Milner areas get inventory and parts tracked, job or work-order costing where it helps and equipment financing recorded properly. Grocers get imported stock and duty posted to inventory, and the GST paid at the border claimed back.
Delivery apps pay out net of their commission. We record the full sale, then post the platform’s commission as an expense and claim the HST charged on it as an input tax credit. Booking only the net deposit understates sales and the HST you collected, which is a common reason a restaurant’s HST return does not match its books.
An illustrative example (not a client story). A Scarborough restaurant on Sheppard Avenue on our Scale plan takes cash, cards and orders through two delivery apps. Each month we post daily POS sales, gross up delivery-app payouts for commissions, reconcile the card processor and bank, record supplier invoices from the cash-and-carry and the meat supplier, run payroll entries and send a food-cost and labour-cost report by the 10th.
