I highly recommend T-Ledgers. Their communication is exceptional. You won’t have to wait days for a response. Waji really takes his time to explain things in-depth with his clients. He provides the ins and outs behind every major decision. Our corporation was 2 years behind on filings and Waji and his firm got all the work done in a timely manner, as promised.Posted on Google![]()

I highly recommend **T Ledger's Accounting**. He has gone above and beyond for me every single time I’ve needed his help. Even when something is urgent or needs to be handled last minute, he gets it done right away and makes sure everything is taken care of properly. He’s the type of accountant you can genuinely depend on. No matter what situation you’re dealing with, he takes the time to understand it, explains what needs to be done, and handles everything with a high level of professionalism. Reliable, knowledgeable, responsive, and always willing to help. It’s hard to find someone you can trust to handle important financial and accounting matters, and I’ve had nothing but a great experience with T Ledger's Accounting. **Beyond highly recommended. If you’re looking for an accountant you can rely on, this is the place to go.**Posted on Google![]()

I fully recommend Wajahat for one's tax filing needs. He will explain what he's doing and why, rather than just asking for documents and going silent, ensuring the customer is informed at every stage of the process. He is trustworthy and transparent when it comes to pricing and quality of the work for small business tax needs.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust. Oakville has a high share of professional corporations and owner-managers who keep surplus cash invested inside a company. That brings T2 questions a simple return doesn’t have: whether passive investment income is grinding down the small business limit, how to pay out the capital dividend account tax-free, and whether a holding company still makes sense. A good T2 for these clients is half filing and half planning.
I’m Wajahat Ajmal, CPA, FCCA. T-Ledgers is a CPA-led accounting firm practising since 2020. We file for Oakville corporations by phone, video and email, and our nearest office is in Mississauga at 100 Matheson Blvd E, Suite 204.
Oakville corporations we file for most often: professional corporations for physicians, dentists and other professionals, consulting companies, holding companies with investment portfolios, and home-improvement and trades businesses.

| Town of Oakville business licences | The Town says most businesses need a licence. A new Business Licensing By-law takes effect on January 4, 2027. Fees are deducted in the year paid. | Town of Oakville business licence |
| Halton Region Public Health | Inspection-driven renovations go on Schedule 8 as capital. | Halton food safety for business |
| Ontario land transfer tax | Added to the cost of Oakville property, driving CCA and the later gain. | Ontario land transfer tax |

An illustrative example (not a client story). An Oakville professional corporation has built up an investment portfolio. On the T2 we calculate the passive income and whether it is reducing next year’s small business limit, track refundable tax on investment income, update the capital dividend account after a capital gain, and plan how the owner draws funds next year. If a holding company owns the professional corporation’s shares, both returns are prepared together.
What’s different for Oakville corporations. Oakville has many professional corporations and holding companies with investment income. Passive income over $50,000 reduces the small business limit, and portfolio dividends received by a holding company, and dividends from a connected company that receives a dividend refund, trigger refundable Part IV tax (ITA s.186). We track these accounts so dividends paid out recover tax where possible. New businesses can get free help from the Halton Region Small Business Centre.
Family-owned Oakville corporations also plan succession and estate freezes. Before a freeze we check the share structure, and on the T2 we track the capital dividend account so tax-free dividends can be paid when available.
Scope, deadlines and the 11.2% small business rate are on our main corporate tax (T2) page.
Law: Income Tax Act s.150(1) (filing returns); Income Tax Act s.157(1) (payment by corporation); Income Tax Act s.125(1) (small business deduction); Income Tax Act s.162(1) and (7.2) (late filing and e-filing penalties); Ontario corporate income tax rates.

They can. Passive investment income above $50,000 a year starts to reduce the small business limit for the next year. We calculate it on every T2.
From $800 plus HST/GST for a simple T2 and from $249 for a nil T2. Holding company structures and investment reporting are quoted before we start.
Yes. Each needs its own T2, and preparing them together keeps intercompany dividends and balances consistent.
Not in Oakville itself. Our nearest office is in Mississauga, by appointment. Most Oakville clients work with us online.
Investment income is taxed at a higher rate, part of which is refundable when dividends are paid. Passive income over $50,000 can also reduce the small business limit of an associated operating company.
Only in limited cases. Dividends to family members who don’t work in the business are usually caught by the tax on split income rules, and some professions limit who can own shares. We check both before any dividend is declared.
