I highly recommend T-Ledgers. Their communication is exceptional. You won’t have to wait days for a response. Waji really takes his time to explain things in-depth with his clients. He provides the ins and outs behind every major decision. Our corporation was 2 years behind on filings and Waji and his firm got all the work done in a timely manner, as promised.Posted on Google![]()

I highly recommend **T Ledger's Accounting**. He has gone above and beyond for me every single time I’ve needed his help. Even when something is urgent or needs to be handled last minute, he gets it done right away and makes sure everything is taken care of properly. He’s the type of accountant you can genuinely depend on. No matter what situation you’re dealing with, he takes the time to understand it, explains what needs to be done, and handles everything with a high level of professionalism. Reliable, knowledgeable, responsive, and always willing to help. It’s hard to find someone you can trust to handle important financial and accounting matters, and I’ve had nothing but a great experience with T Ledger's Accounting. **Beyond highly recommended. If you’re looking for an accountant you can rely on, this is the place to go.**Posted on Google![]()

I fully recommend Wajahat for one's tax filing needs. He will explain what he's doing and why, rather than just asking for documents and going silent, ensuring the customer is informed at every stage of the process. He is trustworthy and transparent when it comes to pricing and quality of the work for small business tax needs.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust. Milton owners who ask about incorporating are often at a turning point: an owner-operator adding trucks, a contractor taking on employees, or a new clinic, salon or food business opening in one of the new neighbourhoods. Some have worked through a plan with Halton’s Small Business Centre, which serves Milton; others want to know whether incorporating is worth it at all yet.
I’m Wajahat Ajmal, CPA, FCCA. T-Ledgers is a CPA-led accounting firm practising since 2020. We work with Milton clients by phone, video and email. If you’d rather meet in person, our Mississauga office at 100 Matheson Blvd E, Suite 204 is a short drive down the 401, by appointment.

| Local rule or situation | What it means for a new corporation | Official source |
|---|---|---|
| Halton Region Small Business Centre | Free consultations, workshops and Starter Company grants for Milton owners, with consultants available locally. | Halton Region Small Business Centre |
| Town of Milton business licences | If your business is on the Town’s short licensing list, check whether the licence needs to be issued to the new corporation. Licences run to the end of February. | Town of Milton business licences |
| CVOR and insurance for carriers | A truck operator that incorporates generally needs a CVOR certificate and insurance in the corporation’s name. We set the incorporation date with that in mind. | Ontario: CVOR |
Law: Ontario Business Corporations Act s.4 (articles of incorporation); Income Tax Act s.125(7) (personal services business); Income Tax Act s.85(1) (rollover of assets to a corporation).
For an owner-operator, incorporating can save tax once profit is more than you need to live on, but only if the company is a real business with its own customers and equipment. We look at your contracts and the trucks you own before recommending it.
Trades and new service businesses usually incorporate when they hire. The corporation needs its own HST and payroll accounts, and a WSIB account if it has workers. Equipment and vehicles can move in with a section 85 rollover so no tax arises on the transfer, quoted separately.
Many Milton businesses start from home in the newer subdivisions. You can use your home as the registered office, but that address appears on the public Ontario Business Registry record. Some owners use a business address instead. We go through this before the articles are filed, because changing it later means another filing. Milton owners who commute to Mississauga or Toronto also ask whether a numbered company is enough. It usually is for a contracting or consulting business, and you can add an operating name later by registering it.
An illustrative example (not a client story). A Milton owner-operator who owns his tractor and hauls for three customers wants to add a second truck and a driver. We incorporate an Ontario corporation, transfer the tractor with a section 85 rollover (quoted separately), open the business number, HST and payroll accounts and plan the CVOR, insurance and fuel tax account changes with him.
Both are taxed the same, and we usually recommend Ontario for a Milton business operating mainly in Ontario. Full comparison: Ontario vs federal.
Law: Ontario Business Corporations Act s.4 (articles of incorporation); Canada Business Corporations Act s.105(3) (resident Canadian directors); Corporations Information Act s.3.1 (annual return); Income Tax Act s.85(1) (rollover of assets to a corporation).

Often, once profit is well above what you live on and you have more than one customer. If you work for only one carrier, we check the personal services business rules first.
If you operate mainly in Ontario, usually Ontario. It is simpler to keep up, and both are taxed the same.
