I highly recommend T-Ledgers. Their communication is exceptional. You won’t have to wait days for a response. Waji really takes his time to explain things in-depth with his clients. He provides the ins and outs behind every major decision. Our corporation was 2 years behind on filings and Waji and his firm got all the work done in a timely manner, as promised.Posted on Google![]()

I highly recommend **T Ledger's Accounting**. He has gone above and beyond for me every single time I’ve needed his help. Even when something is urgent or needs to be handled last minute, he gets it done right away and makes sure everything is taken care of properly. He’s the type of accountant you can genuinely depend on. No matter what situation you’re dealing with, he takes the time to understand it, explains what needs to be done, and handles everything with a high level of professionalism. Reliable, knowledgeable, responsive, and always willing to help. It’s hard to find someone you can trust to handle important financial and accounting matters, and I’ve had nothing but a great experience with T Ledger's Accounting. **Beyond highly recommended. If you’re looking for an accountant you can rely on, this is the place to go.**Posted on Google![]()

The client portal T-Ledgers uses makes the whole process much easier than dealing with emails and PDFs back and forth. Document sharing is simple, questions get answered quickly, and you can always see where things stand. It's a modern way of handling accounting and I appreciated that.Posted on Google![]()

I fully recommend Wajahat for one's tax filing needs. He will explain what he's doing and why, rather than just asking for documents and going silent, ensuring the customer is informed at every stage of the process. He is trustworthy and transparent when it comes to pricing and quality of the work for small business tax needs.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust. Markham’s technology sector means many of our clients there bill in more than one currency and sell to customers outside Canada. That makes bookkeeping less about volume and more about getting the treatment right: which sales carry 13% HST, which services to non-residents may be zero-rated, how foreign-currency receipts are converted, and how staff time is tracked if you plan to claim SR&ED.
I’m Wajahat Ajmal, CPA, FCCA. T-Ledgers is a CPA-led accounting firm practising since 2020. We keep books for Markham clients in the cloud, by phone, video and email, so nobody has to cross the 401. If you’d like to meet, book a meeting at our Etobicoke or Mississauga office.
What we set up for Markham clients most often: multi-currency bank accounts and revaluation for software and IT firms, project time tracking that stands up to an SR&ED review (SR&ED claims are quoted after consultation), import and inventory tracking for retailers along Highway 7, and delivery-app payout reconciliation for restaurants.

| Local rule | How we handle it in your monthly books | Official source |
|---|---|---|
| City of Markham business licences | Markham licenses specific businesses under By-law 2018-90 (food premises, personal services, public garages, public halls, second-hand goods, tobacco or vape sales) and vehicle-based businesses under By-law 2022-20. Most offices and consultancies don’t need one; if you do, we record the renewal each year. | City of Markham business licence |
| York Region Public Health | Food premises notify York Region before opening; fit-out costs go to capital assets. | York Region food premises operators |
| Ontario land transfer tax only | No Markham municipal tax; Ontario’s is capitalised in the closing month. | Ontario land transfer tax |
Law: Municipal Act, 2001 s.151(1) (business licensing); Land Transfer Tax Act s.2(1) (Ontario land transfer tax); Health Protection and Promotion Act s.16(1) (food premises).
An illustrative example (not a client story). A Markham software company on our Scale plan bills a US client in US dollars and three Ontario clients in Canadian dollars, and has four developers. Each month we reconcile both currencies, record the US sales as potentially zero-rated and the Ontario sales with 13% HST, run payroll entries, and keep developer time by project. At year-end the books already show which salaries relate to which projects, which is what an SR&ED claim needs.
For Markham tech companies we tag development payroll and contractor costs as you go, so an SR&ED claim is easier later, and record any grant from the Markham Small Business Centre correctly.
Import businesses along Highway 7 get every foreign-currency payment converted at the day’s rate, duty added to landed cost, and border GST/HST claimed as input tax credits. Startups get a monthly burn and runway report for investors.
