I highly recommend T-Ledgers. Their communication is exceptional. You won’t have to wait days for a response. Waji really takes his time to explain things in-depth with his clients. He provides the ins and outs behind every major decision. Our corporation was 2 years behind on filings and Waji and his firm got all the work done in a timely manner, as promised.Posted on Google![]()

I highly recommend **T Ledger's Accounting**. He has gone above and beyond for me every single time I’ve needed his help. Even when something is urgent or needs to be handled last minute, he gets it done right away and makes sure everything is taken care of properly. He’s the type of accountant you can genuinely depend on. No matter what situation you’re dealing with, he takes the time to understand it, explains what needs to be done, and handles everything with a high level of professionalism. Reliable, knowledgeable, responsive, and always willing to help. It’s hard to find someone you can trust to handle important financial and accounting matters, and I’ve had nothing but a great experience with T Ledger's Accounting. **Beyond highly recommended. If you’re looking for an accountant you can rely on, this is the place to go.**Posted on Google![]()

I fully recommend Wajahat for one's tax filing needs. He will explain what he's doing and why, rather than just asking for documents and going silent, ensuring the customer is informed at every stage of the process. He is trustworthy and transparent when it comes to pricing and quality of the work for small business tax needs.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust. Burlington catch-ups usually start with a change: the person who did the books retired or moved on, the business switched software and the bank feeds stopped, or growth meant nobody had time to reconcile. Because so many Burlington businesses sell outside Ontario, a backlog here often hides tax charged at the wrong rate as well as missing returns.
I’m Wajahat Ajmal, CPA, FCCA. T-Ledgers is a CPA-led accounting firm practising since 2020. We work with Burlington clients by phone, video and email. If you’d rather meet in person, our Mississauga office at 100 Matheson Blvd E, Suite 204 is about 30 minutes up the QEW, by appointment.

| Local rule or situation | What it means for a catch-up | Official source |
|---|---|---|
| City of Burlington business licences | Licence renewals paid during the missing years are deducted in the year paid. We also check that renewals weren’t skipped while nobody was watching. | City of Burlington business licences |
| Halton Region Public Health | For food businesses, inspection-driven repairs and equipment from the gap years are sorted into expenses and capital before the returns are filed. | Halton food safety for business |
| Out-of-province sales | We review sales to other provinces in the missing periods and correct the rate where the wrong tax was charged, before the overdue returns go in. | CRA: GST/HST rates by province |
Law: Municipal Act, 2001 s.151(1) (business licensing); Excise Tax Act s.144.1 and Sch. IX (place of supply); Excise Tax Act s.225(4) (time limit for claiming ITCs).
The Burlington file we see most is a family manufacturer or distributor where the books were kept carefully until a few years ago, then switched systems and drifted. We take the last reliable balance sheet, rebuild each month in the new software, and check inventory and receivables against what the owner knows is true.
Smaller service businesses in Burlington, from personal services to consultants, often fell behind after a busy expansion. We rebuild the bank and card activity, file the missing HST returns in order and move you onto a monthly plan. The Halton Region Small Business Centre can help with planning once the numbers are current.
An illustrative example (not a client story). A Burlington family distributor moved from desktop software to QuickBooks Online two years ago, and the books have not been reconciled since. Some invoices to Alberta and Nova Scotia carried 13% HST. We rebuild both years from the bank, customer and supplier statements, correct the rates, take a year-end inventory figure with the owner and file the overdue HST returns. The T2 for each year is included in the per-year price.
Corporate catch-up is priced per year, and personal T1 returns are quoted separately. Full process: our catch-up bookkeeping page.
Law: Income Tax Act s.230(1) (records and books); Income Tax Act s.162(1) (failure to file penalty); Income Tax Act s.220(3.1) (waiver of penalty or interest); Excise Tax Act s.238(1) (GST/HST returns); Excise Tax Act s.88 (GST/HST waiver of penalty or interest).
