Is your corporation a year or more behind on its books, GST/HST returns or T2? Answer a few questions about the years behind, your revenue and whether you carry inventory, and the estimator shows the typical per-year investment to get caught up. Catch-up work starts from $1,800 per year of catch-up work + HST/GST, and it’s usually done in weeks.

Every year we catch up is a complete year, so you come out compliant, not halfway there.
Personal T1 returns for shareholders are quoted separately. Once you’re caught up, most clients move onto a monthly bookkeeping plan so they don’t fall behind again.
Corporate catch-up is priced per year of work, from $1,800 per year of catch-up work + HST/GST. Every year includes the bookkeeping, the GST/HST returns and the T2. Personal T1 returns for shareholders are quoted separately.
Where your price lands above that starting point depends on three things:
Multi-year catch-ups get a discount. The estimator gives you an estimate. On a free call we review your records and give you a fixed, written quote before any work starts, so there are no surprise bills.
Every month a return stays unfiled, the CRA’s charges grow. A late T2 with tax owing gets a penalty of 5% plus 1% a month, up to 12 months (Income Tax Act, s.162(1)), and 10% plus 2% a month, up to 20 months, if the CRA sent a demand and you had a late-filing penalty in any of the three previous years (s.162(2)). Interest at the prescribed rate, 7% for October to December 2026, is compounded daily (s.161, s.248(11)). Late GST/HST returns add 1% plus 0.25% a month, up to 12 months (Excise Tax Act, s.280.1).
If you come forward before the CRA contacts you about the issue (a general education letter doesn’t count), the Voluntary Disclosures Program normally waives 100% of penalties and 75% of interest for applications received on or after October 1, 2025. See what’s at stake with our CRA penalty and VDP savings calculator, or read about our voluntary disclosure service.
Catch-up is usually done in weeks. How fast depends on how many years are behind and how quickly we get your bank and credit card statements. We file the overdue T2 returns and GST/HST returns as each year is finished, so the oldest penalties stop growing first. Learn more on our catch-up bookkeeping page.
