I highly recommend T-Ledgers. Their communication is exceptional. You won’t have to wait days for a response. Waji really takes his time to explain things in-depth with his clients. He provides the ins and outs behind every major decision. Our corporation was 2 years behind on filings and Waji and his firm got all the work done in a timely manner, as promised.Posted on Google![]()

I highly recommend **T Ledger's Accounting**. He has gone above and beyond for me every single time I’ve needed his help. Even when something is urgent or needs to be handled last minute, he gets it done right away and makes sure everything is taken care of properly. He’s the type of accountant you can genuinely depend on. No matter what situation you’re dealing with, he takes the time to understand it, explains what needs to be done, and handles everything with a high level of professionalism. Reliable, knowledgeable, responsive, and always willing to help. It’s hard to find someone you can trust to handle important financial and accounting matters, and I’ve had nothing but a great experience with T Ledger's Accounting. **Beyond highly recommended. If you’re looking for an accountant you can rely on, this is the place to go.**Posted on Google![]()

Document sharing is simple, questions get answered quickly, and you can always see where things stand. It's a modern way of handling accounting and I appreciated that.Posted on Google![]()

I fully recommend Wajahat for one's tax filing needs. He will explain what he's doing and why, rather than just asking for documents and going silent, ensuring the customer is informed at every stage of the process. He is trustworthy and transparent when it comes to pricing and quality of the work for small business tax needs.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust. Bookkeeping in North York usually means one of three kinds of file. Professional offices around Yonge and Sheppard need fee income, staff costs and HST on the taxable side reconciled quietly every month. Distributors and trades near Downsview and the Keele-Dufferin corridor need inventory, supplier statements and job costs kept current. And the tech and pharma tenants on Don Mills and Consumers Road need US-dollar accounts, deferred revenue and project tracking.
I’m Wajahat Ajmal, CPA, FCCA. T-Ledgers is a CPA-led accounting firm practising since 2020. We work with North York clients by phone, video and email. If you’d rather meet in person, our Etobicoke office at 102-89 Skyway Ave is in the City of Toronto, and we also have an office in Mississauga, both by appointment.

| Local rule or situation | How we handle it in your books | Official source |
|---|---|---|
| City of Toronto business licences | Renovators, food businesses, personal service settings and many other trades need a City licence. Renewal fees are recorded when paid. | Toronto licence and permit types |
| Toronto Public Health and DineSafe | North York food premises are inspected by Toronto Public Health. Costs to meet inspection requirements are split between repairs and capital. | Toronto Public Health DineSafe |
| Municipal Land Transfer Tax | When a North York company buys property, Toronto MLTT and Ontario land transfer tax both go into the property cost on the balance sheet. | City of Toronto MLTT |
| Health care practices | Dental, physio and medical offices along Yonge and Sheppard make mostly exempt supplies, but cosmetic work, some products and third-party reports can be taxable. Each gets its own tax code, so input tax credits are claimed only on the taxable side. | CRA P-256: qualifying health care supplies |
Law: City of Toronto Act, 2006 s.86(1) (business licensing); City of Toronto Act, 2006 s.267(1) (City taxes, including MLTT and Vacant Home Tax); Health Protection and Promotion Act s.16(1) (food premises).
Professional corporations near Yonge and Sheppard usually want books that are quiet and correct: fees received, staff paid, HST on the taxable side, and a clean shareholder loan at year-end. We reconcile on a monthly or quarterly schedule and keep the T2 ready.
Distributors and trades around Downsview and the Keele-Dufferin industrial area need inventory, job costing and supplier statements reconciled every month. Tech and pharma tenants along Don Mills and Consumers Road often need deferred revenue, US-dollar accounts and project tracking for SR&ED.
Two North York set-ups come up often. Firms that bill US clients get a separate US-dollar bank account in QuickBooks, so exchange gains and losses show clearly. Dental and medical professional corporations make mostly HST-exempt supplies, so we track which costs relate to any taxable side, because input tax credits are limited to that part.
An illustrative example (not a client story). A North York distributor near Downsview on our Scale plan imports from the US and Asia and sells to retailers across Ontario. Each month we reconcile three bank accounts, post landed cost including duty and freight to inventory, claim the GST paid at the border from customs statements, and send aged receivables and gross margin by product line by the 10th.

Law: Income Tax Act s.230(1), (4) (records and books, six-year retention); Excise Tax Act s.286(1) (GST/HST records); Excise Tax Act s.169(4) (ITC documentation).
