I highly recommend T-Ledgers. Their communication is exceptional. You won’t have to wait days for a response. Waji really takes his time to explain things in-depth with his clients. He provides the ins and outs behind every major decision. Our corporation was 2 years behind on filings and Waji and his firm got all the work done in a timely manner, as promised.Posted on Google![]()

I highly recommend **T Ledger's Accounting**. He has gone above and beyond for me every single time I’ve needed his help. Even when something is urgent or needs to be handled last minute, he gets it done right away and makes sure everything is taken care of properly. He’s the type of accountant you can genuinely depend on. No matter what situation you’re dealing with, he takes the time to understand it, explains what needs to be done, and handles everything with a high level of professionalism. Reliable, knowledgeable, responsive, and always willing to help. It’s hard to find someone you can trust to handle important financial and accounting matters, and I’ve had nothing but a great experience with T Ledger's Accounting. **Beyond highly recommended. If you’re looking for an accountant you can rely on, this is the place to go.**Posted on Google![]()

The client portal T-Ledgers uses makes the whole process much easier than dealing with emails and PDFs back and forth. Document sharing is simple, questions get answered quickly, and you can always see where things stand. It's a modern way of handling accounting and I appreciated that.Posted on Google![]()

I fully recommend Wajahat for one's tax filing needs. He will explain what he's doing and why, rather than just asking for documents and going silent, ensuring the customer is informed at every stage of the process. He is trustworthy and transparent when it comes to pricing and quality of the work for small business tax needs.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust. Markham’s technology sector shapes its T2s. A small software company may be doing work that qualifies for SR&ED, an IT consultant’s one-person corporation may carry personal services business risk, and many companies earn revenue in US dollars or hold foreign property. Each of those adds schedules, forms or elections that a basic return doesn’t have, and each needs someone who will actually ask the questions.
I’m Wajahat Ajmal, CPA, FCCA. T-Ledgers is a CPA-led accounting firm practising since 2020. We file for Markham corporations online, by phone, video and email; in-person meetings are at our Etobicoke or Mississauga office.
Markham corporations we file for most often: software and IT companies, one-person consulting corporations, importers and retailers along Highway 7, and restaurants.

| Local rule | How it shows up on your T2 | Official source |
|---|---|---|
| City of Markham business licences | Markham licenses specific businesses under By-law 2018-90 and vehicle-based businesses under By-law 2022-20. Most offices and consultancies don’t need one. Fees are deducted in the year paid. | City of Markham business licence |
| York Region Public Health | Inspection-driven renovations go on Schedule 8 as capital. | York Region food premises operators |
| Ontario land transfer tax | Added to the cost of Markham property, driving CCA and the later gain. | Ontario land transfer tax |
Law: Municipal Act, 2001 s.151(1) (business licensing); Land Transfer Tax Act s.2(1) (Ontario land transfer tax); Health Protection and Promotion Act s.16(1) (food premises).
An illustrative example (not a client story). A Markham software company with four developers bills a US customer and holds US-dollar cash. On the T2 we translate foreign balances, record exchange gains, check whether foreign property passes the $100,000 T1135 threshold, and confirm the small business deduction. Because developer time was tracked by project during the year, the company can consider an SR&ED claim (narrative, T661 and Schedule 31), which we quote after consultation.
What’s different for Markham corporations. Markham tech companies often claim SR&ED, receive government grants, or have foreign investors. Grants, including those administered by the Markham Small Business Centre, generally reduce related costs or are taxable (see Income Tax Act s.12(1)(x)). Foreign or public-company investors can cost the company its CCPC status and refundable credits, so we check ownership before filing.
Import and wholesale corporations along Highway 7 need foreign-exchange gains and losses on supplier balances reported, and a T1135 if foreign property costs more than $100,000. We check both when preparing the T2. For startups with losses, we track non-capital losses so they’re available against future profits.
Scope, deadlines and the 11.2% small business rate are on our main corporate tax (T2) page.
Law: Income Tax Act s.150(1) (filing returns); Income Tax Act s.157(1) (payment by corporation); Income Tax Act s.125(1) (small business deduction); Income Tax Act s.162(1) and (7.2) (late filing and e-filing penalties); Ontario corporate income tax rates.

Yes. We prepare the claim end to end, including the narrative, T661 and Schedule 31, and file it with the T2. It is quoted after consultation.
From $800 plus HST/GST for a simple T2 and from $249 for a nil T2. Foreign reporting is quoted separately, and SR&ED is quoted after consultation.
If it held specified foreign property costing more than $100,000 at any time in the year, generally yes. We check and quote it separately.
No. We work with Markham clients online; meetings are at our Etobicoke or Mississauga office, by appointment.
It can. If non-residents or public companies control the corporation, it may lose CCPC status, the small business rate and enhanced SR&ED credits. We review the share register before filing.
