I highly recommend T-Ledgers. Their communication is exceptional. You won’t have to wait days for a response. Waji really takes his time to explain things in-depth with his clients. He provides the ins and outs behind every major decision. Our corporation was 2 years behind on filings and Waji and his firm got all the work done in a timely manner, as promised.Posted on Google![]()

I highly recommend **T Ledger's Accounting**. He has gone above and beyond for me every single time I’ve needed his help. Even when something is urgent or needs to be handled last minute, he gets it done right away and makes sure everything is taken care of properly. He’s the type of accountant you can genuinely depend on. No matter what situation you’re dealing with, he takes the time to understand it, explains what needs to be done, and handles everything with a high level of professionalism. Reliable, knowledgeable, responsive, and always willing to help. It’s hard to find someone you can trust to handle important financial and accounting matters, and I’ve had nothing but a great experience with T Ledger's Accounting. **Beyond highly recommended. If you’re looking for an accountant you can rely on, this is the place to go.**Posted on Google![]()

Document sharing is simple, questions get answered quickly, and you can always see where things stand. It's a modern way of handling accounting and I appreciated that.Posted on Google![]()

I fully recommend Wajahat for one's tax filing needs. He will explain what he's doing and why, rather than just asking for documents and going silent, ensuring the customer is informed at every stage of the process. He is trustworthy and transparent when it comes to pricing and quality of the work for small business tax needs.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust. Kitchener returns reflect a tech and manufacturing city with a big student population. Employees at software companies may have stock options or RSUs, manufacturing and trades workers file with union dues and tool costs, Conestoga College students file with tuition slips, and many households own a rental unit or a duplex in older neighbourhoods near downtown.
I’m Wajahat Ajmal, CPA, FCCA. T-Ledgers is a CPA-led accounting firm practising since 2020. We work with Kitchener clients by phone, video and email, with documents shared through a secure portal. Our office is in Mississauga if you’re ever in the GTA, and meetings there are by appointment.

| Local situation | How we handle it | Official source |
|---|---|---|
| Stock options and RSUs | A stock option benefit shows on your T4. Where the conditions are met, a deduction of half the benefit applies, and options in a Canadian-controlled private company can be taxed when you sell rather than when you exercise. | CRA: security options deduction |
| Conestoga students | Tuition from the T2202 is claimed, carried forward or transferred to a parent, up to the limit. | CRA: tuition amounts |
| Duplex and second-unit rentals | Rent goes on a T776 with the rented share of mortgage interest, property tax, utilities and insurance. | CRA: rental income guide |
| Ontario Trillium Benefit | Rent or property tax paid can count toward the Ontario energy and property tax credit on the ON-BEN form. | CRA: Ontario benefits |
Law: Income Tax Act s.7(1), (1.1) (security options); Income Tax Act s.110(1)(d), (d.1) (security options deduction); Income Tax Act s.126(1), (7) (foreign tax credit); CRA Folio S5-F2-C1; Income Tax Act s.118.61 (unused tuition carryforward); Income Tax Act s.9 (income from property).
Tech employees who sell shares need the adjusted cost base right, including the option benefit already taxed, or the same income is taxed twice. We rebuild the cost base from your plan statements and report the gain correctly.
Trades employees can claim eligible tool costs above the threshold with a signed T2200, and self-employed contractors get a T2125 with vehicle and equipment costs. Duplex owners get rent and shared costs reported, with a cost schedule kept for when they sell.
A growing number of Kitchener residents work remotely for US employers. When the employer does not withhold Canadian tax, the full tax bill lands at filing time, and CRA may ask for quarterly instalments the next year. We estimate the balance early so April is not a surprise. If you also hold RSUs or options from a US parent company, the shares are reported in Canadian dollars at the exchange rate on the day they vest or are exercised, and US tax withheld on them may be claimed as a foreign tax credit, but only up to the amount the US can tax under the Canada–US tax treaty. Any excess has to be recovered from the IRS.

Law: Income Tax Act s.150(1)(d) (filing deadline); Income Tax Act s.156.1(4) (balance due); Income Tax Act s.162(1) (late-filing penalty).

For a Canadian-controlled private company, generally when you sell the shares, not when you exercise. We report the benefit and the deduction in the right year.
Probably because the cost base doesn’t include the income already taxed on your T4. We correct the cost base so it isn’t taxed twice.
Yes. Kitchener clients upload slips through our secure portal, and we review the return by phone or video.
From $49 for a student return, $110 for a regular return and $300 for a self-employed return with a T2125, plus HST/GST, per tax year. Section 216 returns start from $350.
