I highly recommend T-Ledgers. Their communication is exceptional. You won’t have to wait days for a response. Waji really takes his time to explain things in-depth with his clients. He provides the ins and outs behind every major decision. Our corporation was 2 years behind on filings and Waji and his firm got all the work done in a timely manner, as promised.Posted on Google![]()

I highly recommend **T Ledger's Accounting**. He has gone above and beyond for me every single time I’ve needed his help. Even when something is urgent or needs to be handled last minute, he gets it done right away and makes sure everything is taken care of properly. He’s the type of accountant you can genuinely depend on. No matter what situation you’re dealing with, he takes the time to understand it, explains what needs to be done, and handles everything with a high level of professionalism. Reliable, knowledgeable, responsive, and always willing to help. It’s hard to find someone you can trust to handle important financial and accounting matters, and I’ve had nothing but a great experience with T Ledger's Accounting. **Beyond highly recommended. If you’re looking for an accountant you can rely on, this is the place to go.**Posted on Google![]()

I fully recommend Wajahat for one's tax filing needs. He will explain what he's doing and why, rather than just asking for documents and going silent, ensuring the customer is informed at every stage of the process. He is trustworthy and transparent when it comes to pricing and quality of the work for small business tax needs.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust. Kitchener books range from a 40-year-old fabricator with inventory and equipment loans to a two-year-old software company with US customers and investors asking for monthly numbers. In between are food producers, trades, clinics and the shops along King Street and in Belmont Village. What they need from a bookkeeper differs, but every one of them needs reconciled accounts, HST filed from real numbers and a close that happens on time.
I’m Wajahat Ajmal, CPA, FCCA. T-Ledgers is a CPA-led accounting firm practising since 2020. We work with Kitchener clients by phone, video and email, with documents shared through a secure portal. Our office is in Mississauga if you’re ever in the GTA, and meetings there are by appointment.

| Local rule or situation | How we handle it in your books | Official source |
|---|---|---|
| City of Kitchener business licences | The City licenses food shops and trucks, salons, contractors, convenience stores, motor vehicle facilities and a few others. Renewals are posted when paid. | City of Kitchener business licences |
| Region of Waterloo Public Health | Food premises send a notification and floor plan before opening and are then inspected on a risk schedule. Fit-out costs are recorded as assets. | Region of Waterloo food service standards |
| SR&ED-ready books for start-ups | Salaries, contractors and materials are tagged by project each month, so SR&ED and Ontario innovation credit claims are supported by the books. | CRA: SR&ED program |
| Manufacturing inventory | Raw materials, work in progress and finished goods are counted and costed so gross margin is reliable each month, not just at year-end. | CRA: classes of depreciable property |
Law: Municipal Act, 2001 s.151(1) (business licensing); Health Protection and Promotion Act s.16(1) (food premises); Income Tax Act s.37(1) (SR&ED expenditures); Taxation Act, 2007 s.96 (Ontario innovation tax credit).
Kitchener start-ups usually need three things from their books: a clean month-end for investors, deferred revenue for subscriptions or milestone contracts, and project-level tracking for SR&ED. We set those up in QuickBooks Online and keep them current, so the year-end and the claim aren’t a scramble.
Manufacturers and food processors get inventory, costing and equipment financing reconciled monthly. Trades get job costing and holdbacks, and King Street and Belmont Village retailers get POS sales and processor payouts matched to deposits.
Investor-backed startups usually want a monthly package: profit and loss, balance sheet, cash burn and runway. On the Scale and Ultimate plans we close by the 10th, so that package is ready for the board. Grants such as NRC IRAP are recorded as government assistance against the costs they fund, which keeps an SR&ED claim calculated correctly.
An illustrative example (not a client story). A Kitchener software start-up on our Scale plan sells annual subscriptions to US customers and has six developers. Each month we reconcile the Canadian and US-dollar accounts, defer subscription revenue, record payroll and contractor costs by project for SR&ED, track the burn rate and send an investor-ready report by the 10th.
