I highly recommend T-Ledgers. Their communication is exceptional. You won’t have to wait days for a response. Waji really takes his time to explain things in-depth with his clients. He provides the ins and outs behind every major decision. Our corporation was 2 years behind on filings and Waji and his firm got all the work done in a timely manner, as promised.Posted on Google![]()

I highly recommend **T Ledger's Accounting**. He has gone above and beyond for me every single time I’ve needed his help. Even when something is urgent or needs to be handled last minute, he gets it done right away and makes sure everything is taken care of properly. He’s the type of accountant you can genuinely depend on. No matter what situation you’re dealing with, he takes the time to understand it, explains what needs to be done, and handles everything with a high level of professionalism. Reliable, knowledgeable, responsive, and always willing to help. It’s hard to find someone you can trust to handle important financial and accounting matters, and I’ve had nothing but a great experience with T Ledger's Accounting. **Beyond highly recommended. If you’re looking for an accountant you can rely on, this is the place to go.**Posted on Google![]()

I fully recommend Wajahat for one's tax filing needs. He will explain what he's doing and why, rather than just asking for documents and going silent, ensuring the customer is informed at every stage of the process. He is trustworthy and transparent when it comes to pricing and quality of the work for small business tax needs.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust. Hamilton corporations range from steel and food manufacturers to contractors, clinics and holding companies that own a building or two. For many of them the T2 is less about the form and more about what feeds it: inventory and work in progress at year-end, equipment purchases and their capital cost allowance, and how the owner is paid.
I’m Wajahat Ajmal, CPA, FCCA. T-Ledgers is a CPA-led accounting firm practising since 2020. We work with Hamilton clients by phone, video and email, so there’s no drive up the QEW. If you’d rather meet in person, our Mississauga office at 100 Matheson Blvd E, Suite 204 is available by appointment.

| Local rule or situation | How it shows up on your T2 | Official source |
|---|---|---|
| Manufacturing equipment | Machinery and equipment go into the correct capital cost allowance class. Manufacturing and processing machinery has its own class with a faster write-off than general equipment. | CRA: classes of depreciable property |
| No municipal land transfer tax | A Hamilton building bought by a corporation carries Ontario land transfer tax only. It is added to the land and building cost, which drives CCA and the gain on a later sale. | Ontario land transfer tax |
| City of Hamilton business licences | Annual licence renewals under By-law 07-170 are deducted in the year they are paid. | City of Hamilton business licences |
Law: Income Tax Act s.20(1)(a) (capital cost allowance); Income Tax Regulations Sch. II (CCA classes); Land Transfer Tax Act s.2(1) (Ontario land transfer tax); Income Tax Act s.125(7) (specified investment business).
Hamilton manufacturers and processors usually have the most to get right on the T2: a year-end inventory count, work in progress valued the same way every year, and new machinery placed in the right CCA class. Mistakes there don’t just change this year’s tax; they move profit between years.
Contractors need revenue recognized on the right jobs, holdbacks receivable shown properly and T5018 slips filed for subcontractors. Holding companies that own Hamilton real estate need rent kept separate from active business income, because rent is usually taxed at the higher investment rate unless the company employs more than five people full time in the rental business.
An illustrative example (not a client story). A Hamilton food processor buys a new packaging line in March and leases a second warehouse. On the T2 we add the line to the right CCA class, deduct the lease payments, value raw materials and finished goods at year-end, confirm the small business deduction on the first $500,000 of active income and set next year’s instalments. If the line involved new process development, we check whether part of the cost qualifies for SR&ED, quoted separately.
Deadlines and the 11.2% rate: our corporate tax (T2) page.
Law: Income Tax Act s.150(1)(a) (T2 due six months after year-end); Income Tax Act s.157(1) (instalments and balance due); Income Tax Act s.125(1) (small business deduction); Income Tax Act s.162(1), (7.2) (late filing and e-filing penalties); Ontario corporate income tax rates.
