I highly recommend T-Ledgers. Their communication is exceptional. You won’t have to wait days for a response. Waji really takes his time to explain things in-depth with his clients. He provides the ins and outs behind every major decision. Our corporation was 2 years behind on filings and Waji and his firm got all the work done in a timely manner, as promised.Posted on Google![]()

I highly recommend **T Ledger's Accounting**. He has gone above and beyond for me every single time I’ve needed his help. Even when something is urgent or needs to be handled last minute, he gets it done right away and makes sure everything is taken care of properly. He’s the type of accountant you can genuinely depend on. No matter what situation you’re dealing with, he takes the time to understand it, explains what needs to be done, and handles everything with a high level of professionalism. Reliable, knowledgeable, responsive, and always willing to help. It’s hard to find someone you can trust to handle important financial and accounting matters, and I’ve had nothing but a great experience with T Ledger's Accounting. **Beyond highly recommended. If you’re looking for an accountant you can rely on, this is the place to go.**Posted on Google![]()

Document sharing is simple, questions get answered quickly, and you can always see where things stand. It's a modern way of handling accounting and I appreciated that.Posted on Google![]()

I fully recommend Wajahat for one's tax filing needs. He will explain what he's doing and why, rather than just asking for documents and going silent, ensuring the customer is informed at every stage of the process. He is trustworthy and transparent when it comes to pricing and quality of the work for small business tax needs.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust. Hamilton’s small businesses keep very different books. A steel fabricator in the east-end industrial area carries inventory and work in progress, a renovation contractor on the Mountain bills in progress draws with holdbacks, a clinic in Westdale separates HST-exempt health services from taxable sales, and a lower-city landlord tracks rent from a building with a shop downstairs. What they share is a need for books that are reconciled on schedule, not rebuilt every April.
I’m Wajahat Ajmal, CPA, FCCA. T-Ledgers is a CPA-led accounting firm practising since 2020. We work with Hamilton clients by phone, video and email, so there’s no drive up the QEW. If you’d rather meet in person, our Mississauga office at 100 Matheson Blvd E, Suite 204 is available by appointment.

| Local rule or situation | How we handle it in your books | Official source |
|---|---|---|
| City of Hamilton business licences | Licences under By-law 07-170 are renewed every year. We record each renewal in the month it is paid, so the cost is never missed at year-end. | City of Hamilton business licences |
| Hamilton Public Health food premises | For restaurants and food shops, spending prompted by an inspection is split between repairs (expensed) and improvements (capital), so the year-end isn’t a guess. | Hamilton food premises requirements |
| Construction holdbacks | Contractor invoices are recorded at the full amount, with the 10% holdback tracked as a separate receivable until it is released. | Ontario Construction Act |
| Hamilton Business Centre | New owners can get free one-on-one advice at the City’s business centre at City Hall. Once the plan is set, we build the chart of accounts and bank feeds. | Hamilton Business Centre |
Law: Municipal Act, 2001 s.151(1) (business licensing); Construction Act s.22(1) (10% holdback); Health Protection and Promotion Act s.16(1) (food premises).
Most Hamilton owners who come to us are doing their own books in QuickBooks Online or a spreadsheet, or have a part-time bookkeeper who enters transactions but never reconciles them. We start by reconciling the last few months to the bank and the HST account, fix the gaps, and then take over on a fixed schedule.
For manufacturers and fabricators, the monthly close includes inventory and work in progress, so gross margin means something before year-end. For trades, we post progress billings and holdbacks against each job and keep subcontractor payments ready for T5018 reporting. For clinics and dental offices, exempt health services and taxable sales sit on separate tax codes so the GST/HST return is right the first time.
An illustrative example (not a client story). A Hamilton metal fabricator on our Scale plan buys steel on 60-day terms, ships to customers in Ontario and the US, and pays four shop staff weekly. Each month we reconcile the operating and US-dollar accounts, post purchases to inventory, record export sales as zero-rated, match payroll remittances to the CRA account and send a one-page report with gross margin, all by the 10th.

Law: Income Tax Act s.230(1), (4) (records and books, six-year retention); Excise Tax Act s.286(1) (GST/HST records); Excise Tax Act s.169(4) (ITC documentation).
