I highly recommend T-Ledgers. Their communication is exceptional. You won’t have to wait days for a response. Waji really takes his time to explain things in-depth with his clients. He provides the ins and outs behind every major decision. Our corporation was 2 years behind on filings and Waji and his firm got all the work done in a timely manner, as promised.Posted on Google![]()

I highly recommend **T Ledger's Accounting**. He has gone above and beyond for me every single time I’ve needed his help. Even when something is urgent or needs to be handled last minute, he gets it done right away and makes sure everything is taken care of properly. He’s the type of accountant you can genuinely depend on. No matter what situation you’re dealing with, he takes the time to understand it, explains what needs to be done, and handles everything with a high level of professionalism. Reliable, knowledgeable, responsive, and always willing to help. It’s hard to find someone you can trust to handle important financial and accounting matters, and I’ve had nothing but a great experience with T Ledger's Accounting. **Beyond highly recommended. If you’re looking for an accountant you can rely on, this is the place to go.**Posted on Google![]()

I fully recommend Wajahat for one's tax filing needs. He will explain what he's doing and why, rather than just asking for documents and going silent, ensuring the customer is informed at every stage of the process. He is trustworthy and transparent when it comes to pricing and quality of the work for small business tax needs.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust. Markham GST/HST files often belong to IT consultants billing clients in the US and overseas, importers and retailers, and restaurants. Getting zero-rating and import credits right can change the return a lot.
I’m Wajahat Ajmal, CPA, FCCA. T-Ledgers is a CPA-led accounting firm practising since 2020. We work with Markham clients online, with cloud bookkeeping, so you never need to drive across the 401. If you’d rather meet in person, you can book a meeting at our Etobicoke or Mississauga office. Meetings are by appointment only.

| Local situation | How we handle it | Source |
|---|---|---|
| IT consultants with foreign clients | Many services supplied to non-residents are zero-rated: no HST charged, but ITCs still claimed. We review each contract. | Excise Tax Act |
| Importers and retailers | GST paid at the border is claimed back as an ITC with customs broker and CBSA documents. | CBSA: importing |
| Restaurants | York Region inspects food premises; delivery-app commissions are claimed as ITCs and sales reconciled to deposits. | York Region food premises operators |
Law: Excise Tax Act Sch. VI, Part V, s.7 (services supplied to non-residents); Excise Tax Act s.212 (GST on imported goods).
For Markham IT consultants, the biggest GST/HST question is usually whether a contract with a foreign client is zero-rated. The answer depends on who the client is and where the service is used, so we check contracts before invoices go out.
Importers and retailers need border GST matched to customs statements, and restaurants need delivery-app payouts reconciled. We file from reconciled books and keep the documents the CRA would ask to see.
Markham businesses follow the same rules as the rest of Ontario: register once taxable sales pass $30,000, charge 13% HST, claim input tax credits with proper receipts and file on your assigned schedule. Thresholds, filing deadlines and penalties are explained on our GST/HST services page.
Law: Excise Tax Act s.148(1), s.240(1); Excise Tax Act s.165.
